Last few days of summer!

Major Home Renovations:

Kitchen Before and Kitchen after! Most of you know that there isn't a room in the house that hasn't undergone major renovation. The kitchen was the last thing in the house that really drove me crazy! We replaced the carpet with wood immediately, but the cabinets really needed to be changed. They were a flat panel, and had aweful hardware on them that left huge marks on the wood. So just changing the hardware was out. I also wanted to update the look of them and make them more modern, so my ever so talented husband put trim around the outside to give them the modern style, we painted them so they weren't ugly orange stain, and changed the hardware! I love it! It looks so much better, but of course now I want new countertops! That will probably come sometime in the next year, I better wait till I spend money I don't have!

We went to the Dike parade for the first time and Nick's business (Delta Sports Products) had a float in the parade since that is where their company is located now after the fire this past year. The kids have been to lots of parades, but never in one! They were very excited because Nick's float was one of the last ones, so they got to watch the parade and then jump on the float and be IN the parade!Cole obviously is very much into his dad's hobbies! Nick brought this bow home from work for Cole to try, he can load it and shoot it!

Our last day of freedom before I went back to school we all spent the afternoon playing out by the pool. It was so sad to think that these days are over, except on the weekends!

Summertime Fun!

We took the kids to Adventureland again this year! They loved it so much! I think they went on more adult rides than kid rides though. They are such daredevils! They wanted to do the big rollercoasters, and we tried, but they sent us back after they checked the height of the kids! Claire really loved the fast, crazy, spinning ones! I think Nick rode more than he was comfortable with just so he didn't feel like he was being outdone by his 3 year olds!

The Log Ride was one of the first rides we went on at Adventureland, per Claire's request. She sat in the front and got soaked. She was not too happy with her choice after the ride! If you can't tell how wet she is, it is because we had to wring the water out of her shirt and skirt!

Weekend at Marcie's house!
Chad had to give them rides on all the farm toys!

The kiddy Tractor Pull was a huge hit, good call Chad! Cole won with a full pull, and Claire was the only contestant in a sleeping beauty dress!
The Wii (sp?) was a huge hit at Marcie's house! The kids loved the bowling!
Dike has a lake with a bike trail around it which the kids love!

I don't know why I can't fit in the car and go for a ride!

Katelyn is the daughter of my roommate from college, Abby. The girls both share a love for Disney princesses!

Ankeny Summerfest!

This was so funny to watch them try to keep their hands up!

This is classic Cane, he will suck on his pacifier upside down about half of the time, he usually puts in in like this!
The kids love to pretend they are camping and roast marshmellows by the fire!

Cane was not a fan of the 4th of July, he didn't really like fireworks or sparklers!

Cane wasn't a fan of the floaty at first, but quickly loved it!
